As mighty as trees may look, and as tough as shrubs are reputed to be, there is an enemy empire of insects and diseases out there than bring even the loftiest tree low. Insects and diseases don't just sap a tree's strength and spoil it's looks; they can weaken it to the point where it is in serious danger and may become a structural risk. Plus of course as with any type of insect pest or disease if you don't do anything about it the chances are that it will spread. So don't leave insects and diseases to run riot; get in touch with us straight away and we will identify and treat it immediately.

Tree Disease Control

Tree disease and fungus control comes in two main forms; proactive and reactive. Reactive is when you realize that your trees and shrubs are already suffering from something nasty and you want to deal with it. If it's lifeforms like fungus that can be relatively straightforward but some diseases take longer to tackle. Which is one of the reasons why we are great believers in proactive disease control where we spray and treat trees that we think may be at risk in such a way that diseases are prevented from taking hold.

Insect Control

The old approach to insect control essentially involved spraying everything in sight with poison. Like a lot of old practices that has turned out to have a number of undesirable effects not least since that same outdoor space is supposed to be enjoyed by you, your family, and your pets none of which you presumably want to affect with industrial poisons. Which is why we are much more sophisticated in our insect control, using a range of techniques including different preparations and sprays as well as plant and site management to reduce the amount of noxious chemicals needed and in some cases deter insects through purely natural and harmless approaches. Talk to us about how 'green' you'd really like your garden to be and you'll be surprised about what we can do these days.

Tree Disease Symptoms

There is a massive range of symptoms to show your trees are in trouble. It's not just eaten or shrunken leaves but open wounds, fungi on cracks, molds, and local specialties like Fireblight which leaves plants looking blackened as if burnt. Whatever the signs just send us some pictures and we can help with the diagnosis and the treatment.

Year Round Care and Prevention

As we've said we're great believers in stopping problems before they start and there is a great deal we can do to ensure that disease and pests never show up in your yards. Winter is the great underused season for us since Winter pruning and care can save a lot of time and trouble when Spring comes round. We can treat trees and shrubs with preventative coatings that give them a fine layer of a waxy protection that helps stop fungus, molds, and creepy crawlies from ever getting a grip on your greenery.
